Where the Story Left Off

Aoashi is based on Yugo Kobayashi’s popular manga that was published for a decade in Weekly Big Comic Spirits. The manga consists of forty volumes and has sold over twenty million copies, which speaks volumes about its success since its debut in 2015.

The plot revolves around Ashito Aoi, who has played soccer throughout his junior high school, but ended his career with a devastating loss. Instead of turning away, he makes a comeback as Tatsuya Fukuda, the manager of a training program linked to a renowned J-League club, sees something in Ashito and recruits him for a tryout. Thus begins the journey of Ashito from being a raw talent to becoming one of the best players in the country.

What to Expect From the New Season

Aoashi Season 2 will be worth watching because of the transition in scale. The first season was about building Ashito; however, the second one seems like a tough challenge that will require a test of his preparation for elite-level training.

Even the new songs in the trailer show that the tone of the series might change, making it match Ashito's new struggle. Since the premiere is on October 4, we can expect more buzz around Aoashi Season 2 as the days get closer.
