The HGTV star, 42, is stepping into the role of judge during Monday's March 9 all-new episode of Bachelor Mansion Takeover, during which 12 Bachelor Nation alumni give the iconic mansion a much-needed makeover.
During a Q&A shared by HGTV’s Instagram account on Monday, Haack revealed her first impression of the Bachelor mansion, noting that the home is more run-down than she was expecting.
“The mansion is a little bit run-down, guys. I thought it was going to be more mansion-esque,” she says in the clip. “Like, I pictured a Spanish Villa… It’s definitely in need of this renovation.”
Last month, PEOPLE exclusively debuted the trailer for the HGTV competition show, which revealed a close-up look at the surprisingly damaged condition of the famous property ahead of its renovation.
Throughout the trailer, chipped wooden cabinetry, peeling paint on the walls and exposed wires could be seen. One clip of the pool area in the back of the house revealed the aging exterior, with faded white spots all around.

Along with sharing her initial reaction to seeing the mansion up close, Haack revealed whether she ever thought she’d be involved with a Bachelor show.
“I never thought I would be on The Bachelor, so it’s kind of interesting intermingling HGTV with The Bachelor,” she responds. “Definitely has a different vibe.”

As for whether she prefers “being judged or being the judge,” Haack says she understands both sides, as she’s the one competing and being critiqued on her house flipping competition show, The Flip Off.
“What’s better about judging than being judged? The critique part of it,” she says. “To be honest, giving feedback, I feel bad because I have been on the other side and I know the pressure that these contestants are under.”

In addition to Haack, a number of other guest judges will make an appearance on the series to critique the contestants’ work, including HGTV star Nate Berkus, actress Rachel Bilson, and Bachelor alums JoJo Fletcher and Sean Lowe.
They’ll join the series’ regular judges, Tayshia Adams and Tyler Cameron, who will also come down hard on each contestant to determine the winner and see who will walk away with a $100,000 cash prize.

Throughout the six-episode season, multiple spaces in the beloved mansion will be transformed, including the bunk rooms, the rose room, the pool area, the mixer room, the terrace and the kitchen. Each week, design and renovation skills will be tested, and contestants will be eliminated after each project.
Bachelor Mansion Takeover airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV. Each new episode will be available to stream the next day on HBO Max and discovery+ .
