GloRilla tells PEOPLE she's finishing her second album, which she says will have a fun, elevated summer vibe

It's almost time for GloRilla's second album.

In 2024, the Memphis-born rapper, 26, released her debut album Glorious, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and spawned two multi-platinum singles with "TGIF" and "Whatchu Kno About Me." Now, she's working hard on a follow-up body of work and tells PEOPLE it's almost ready.

"I've been working on it since my last album dropped. So, it's been a minute," says GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods. "I've been trying to give it my all. I’ve been trying not to overthink it and make it as good as Glorious was. I'm almost at the finish line with it. We're just doing some extra touch-ups."

What's going to set the album apart from Glorious? "It's going to sound fun with the summer vibe, of course," she explains. "I want to grow every time I drop something, so it's going to be elevated, but for the most part, it's going to be fun. It's going to have different topics on it."

One topic that might be explored on the project is GloRilla's relationship with NBA player Brandon Ingram, which she says is "inspiring" new music "a lot."

"I try not to go extremely 'my man, my man' over all my music," she says. "I still be trying to find that balance of me doing — I don't want to curse on this call, but my normal ‘F.N.F.’ route. I'm trying to find a balance between that and being a happy and healthy relationship."

The pair's been linked since 2025. "He's helping a lot, and he got me thinking, too," she adds of Ingram. "He got my brain actually working."

In a recent interview with Billboard at the 2026 American Music Awards, GloRilla teased a collaboration with a member of Destiny's Child on the album. However, she won't reveal which one just yet. "They going to find out when it drops," she teases.

GloRilla feels "blessed" to be at a point in her career where she can ask a member of Destiny's Child to feature on her album or get the chance to work with icons like Ludacris and Keyshia Cole on the recent collaborations "Real Hustla" and "Typa," respectively.

"I'm more than grateful and appreciative of them being as big and as legendary as they are to reach back out and work with people of the newer generation," she says.

The rapper recently teamed up with Reese's Puffs to create a new remix of the cereal brand's iconic "Eat 'Em Up" jingle, out now alongside a music video. She tells PEOPLE the partnership reminds her of hearing the catchy track during childhood.

"It used to come on when we would come home from school, watching our cartoons and our favorite TV shows with all my siblings and stuff like that," GloRilla explains. "It just brings back memories of being a kid, and it's crazy that I get to do the song now."

The rapper's latest single, a collaboration with Pooh Sheisty called "MANE," was released in June.
