The *Grease 2* cast reunited on Sunday night, and they were feeling the love.

Lorna Luft, Adrian Zmed, Christopher McDonald, and Maxwell Caulfield were among the stars of the 1982 sequel to attend the TCM Classic Film Festival's celebration.

"We became a family," Luft told EW on the red carpet. "We're a *Grease* family."

Released in 1978, *Grease* became a pop culture phenomenon, with the musical singing its way to almost $400 million at the box office. Four years later, a mostly new cast stepped in for the sequel, which followed the next group of the Pink Ladies and T-Birds, as Caulfield and Michelle Pfeiffer took over from John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as the leads.

On Sunday night, Luft, the daughter of Garland, rocked her Pink Lady jacket from the film, and after it sat in the closer for 44 years, she still pulled it off.

"This is an iconic piece of the legacy of *Grease*," said Luft, who played the bubbly Paulette. "I'm probably never going to wear it again, but I thought, if I can still get into this thing, I'm happy to wear it."

*Grease 2 *wasn't always considered worthy of such a commemoration. The sequel was a critical and commercial bomb at the time of release, earning just $15 million. But time heals all, and *Grease 2 *has belatedly become a cult classic.

"At the time, it didn't perform well," McDonald told EW in a 2023 oral history of* Grease 2*. "But who could perform with the biggest movie musical? Expectations were probably too high because the first one did a ridiculous amount of business. But over the years, people have seen how it's such a different take."

He added, "To this day, they come up to me and say how much they absolutely loved it and ask me to sing 'Where does the pollen go?' And then they scream."
