- Maxwell Caulfield is opening up about his 18-year age gap with wife Juliet Mills.

- "It didn't occur to me and Juliet maintains to this day it didn't really occur to her, either," the *Grease 2 *star told Steve Kmetko on the *Still Here Hollywood *podcast.

- The pair met while starring in a stage production of *The Elephant Man *in 1980 when he was 20 and she was 38.

Age ain't nothing but a number to Maxwell Caulfield.

The *Grease 2 *and *Dynasty *star recently opened up about his relationship with the actress Juliet Mills, whom he married in 1980 when he was 20 and she was 38. The pair have been married ever since. Looking back now at age 66, Caulfield says it didn't matter then and doesn't matter now.

"It didn't occur to me, and Juliet maintains to this day it didn't really occur to her, either," he told Steve Kmetko on a recent episode of his *Still Here Hollywood *podcast.

"We didn't think about it. We didn't talk about it, either. It was just two people who just communicated on such a high level, in different ways. We had so much in common because we were both English, to start with, we're both actors, and we just had a communication instantly," Mills, 84, added.

Caulfield explained that his wife of 46 years "had such a youthful quality — always has, always will do. It's presumptuous of me to even think that I was going to, you know, 'hook up' with her," Caulfield explained, adding his own air quotes. "That wasn't really where it was at. It happened so fast. It caught us both off guard, needless to say."

Caulfield and Mills met in 1980 when they were cast in a stage production of *The Elephant Man*. Mills had already been married twice, first to the songwriter Russell Alquist, Jr., with whom she had a son, and then to the construction manager Michael Miklenda, with whom she had a daughter. But Caulfield had not yet been married.

Caulfield has been continually effusive about Mills over the years.

In June 2024, after they'd been together 44 years, Caulfield posted a throwback photo of himself babyfaced and cheesing next to Mills with the caption, "My girl, forever." Just two months later, he posted a present-day photo of himself with his wife, smiling and embracing while surrounded by balloons.

"When you encounter one as golden + special as she trust me you hold on for all your worth!" he wrote in the caption.
