Hailey Bieber shared that welcoming her son Jack Blues in August 2024 and then selling her skincare brand Rhode Beauty in May 2025 made her feel "stretched"
The proud mom sold Rhode Beauty to e.l.f. Beauty for $1 billion in May 2025
Bieber described 2024 as a year of growth and said balancing motherhood and business strengthened her
Hailey Bieber had a big year last year — and it wasn't without its challenges.
During an interview with Time on Wednesday, May 6, Bieber spoke about welcoming her son Jack and selling her company Rhode Beauty to e.l.f. Beauty all within the same year.
“Selling my company in the first year of also having a child, there’s a lot of change happening at once," she began. "Becoming a mom is, so far in my life, the biggest change I’ve ever been through. I feel like a lot of women would probably agree that the biggest identity shift that you go through in your life is becoming a parent, becoming a mom."

"And to be going through that while also going through this insane business process is just…it was really interesting for those two things to be going on in parallel," she continued. "I felt really stretched in a lot of ways."
Bieber went on to say that she felt like last year was a year of growth and learning for her.
"And when I look back on it now, being 29 turning 30 this year, I’m like, wouldn’t have changed a thing," she explained. "As many ups and downs as there was, as hard as it was for me to do all these major things at one time, I really feel like it strengthened me in a lot of ways."

The model and Rhode Beauty co-founder welcomed her son Jack Blues in August 2024 with husband Justin Bieber. Just a few months later, in May 2025, Hailey sold her company to e.l.f. Beauty for $1 billion.
In November 2025, Hailey spoke with GQ and opened up about her decision to sell her brand.
"I always said that I would never sell the company unless it was a billion dollars. I was just like, it’s going to be this or I am not doing it. That was my goal," Hailey said in the GQ interview published on Nov. 11.
"It was not always entirely my goal to sell the company," she revealed of the company known for its line of curated skincare essentials that launched in 2022.
Hailey then shared the factors that influenced her decision to sell Rhode, including "the boxes" that needed to be checked off before moving forward with the deal.
"I thought if the right opportunity came along and the right home for it came along, then I would definitely consider it," she said, adding, "And I think with e.l.f., all of the boxes that I would want to check to find a home for it, they checked them and then some."
