The episode, called, "Gary," focuses on Mikey, the late brother of "The Bear's" main character, Carmen Berzatto. It's a prequel about a trip Richie and Mikey take to Gary, Indiana.
The episode was written by Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal, who also star in it.
In "The Bear," Moss-Bachrach portrays Carmen's cousin Richie, while Bernthal plays the character of Mikey.

At the beginning of the series, viewers learn that Mikey has committed suicide, and Carmen is coming home to pick up the pieces of the tragedy.
That includes trying to re-invent Mikey's restaurant, "The Beef," located in Chicago, IL.
Overall, the show is an homage to food, and the importance of family − and humor.
