Ithaca theatergoers are in for a provocative experience with the one-woman show "FEAST.," which runs May 6-24 at Kitchen Theatre Company, 417 W State St.

The production reimagines the Beowulf legend from a mother's perspective, exploring themes of justice, power and female rage, according to a community announcement.

The play stars Brenny Campbell as Agathae and is directed by Jen Pearcy-Edwards. The creative team includes Jennifer Schilansky as production stage manager, KC McGeorge on scenic design, Tyler M. Perry handling lighting and projection design, Hunter Kaczorowski on costume design and Deletris Bryant on sound design.

Kitchen Theatre Company is partnering with Loaves & Fishes, which has been doing that work for over 40 years. The collaboration underscores the play's message of moving toward community and care, according to the announcement.

The play invites audiences to reflect on societal divisions and the importance of communal care. By partnering with Loaves & Fishes, Kitchen Theatre Company aims to extend the conversation beyond the stage, encouraging attendees to get involved in local efforts to support those in need.

"FEAST." is expected to offer a unique blend of artistic performance and social engagement, making it more than just a night at the theater.
