Although she said in a 2022 interview that she was “done” with acting, Closer reported that speculation about a potential screen comeback intensified ahead of the Sussexes’ UK return.

The rumored project was Netflix’s “The Gentlemen,” which was filmed largely in the Cotswolds. However, the reported role has never been publicly confirmed. The outlet also cited British-American journalist Tina Brown, who claimed that backlash from the UK public was “so intense” that the offer was ultimately withdrawn because filming became “untenable.”

Despite the reported setback, a source claimed the Duchess was not giving up on her acting ambitions. The insider said Meghan was “chomping at the bit to get back to acting.” They added, “No doubt about that.”
