Sinners star Michael B. Jordan has had a stellar year. From the blockbuster movie breaking records after records at the box office and beyond to an impeccable awards season circuit. By his side for most of the major award shows was his mom Donna Jordan, who got the first shout-out — after God, of course — in his Best Actor acceptance speech at the Academy Awards.

At the Actor Awards on March 1, the star also spoke of his mother's sacrifices. "Mom. thank you for driving me back and forth to New York when we didn't have enough money to go through the Holland Tunnel," he said, choking up. "We were looking for gas money, parking spaces when I went up there for my auditions. [So] thank you."

If you needed a thousandth reason to love Jacob Elordi, you'd be happy to know the Frankenstein star is also a man of his word.

The actor made good on a teenage promise he made to his mom, Melissa, that if he ever attended the Oscars, he'd take her as a date. "I'm gonna take Mom. I promised her when I was 15 that I would take her," he revealed to Jimmy Kimmel back in February.

At the March 15 show, the pair walked the red carpet hand in hand as Jacob was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Frankenstein.

Everyone is well-acquainted with the work John David Washington's dad, Denzel, has put out. But the 41-year-old never misses a chance to give his mother props as well. Back in 2018, the actor went viral after singing his mother's praises during an interview with Today.

"[She] was earning more money than he was before they got married. She was on Broadway working. She paid for the first date — paid the bill, paid the cab ride. A classically trained pianist [who] went to Juilliard. She's a great artist in her own right, and I learned a lot from her," John David affirmed.

Chris Evans

There's being close with your mom, and then there's "racing home" to tell her as soon as you lost your virginity. The Avengers star falls into the latter camp, he said on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

"I raced home and I said, 'I did it! I don't know what I was doing, but I think I did it!' " he said, also joking that he might have cried, as reported by Refinery29.

Evans gave his parents credit for being so cool, he wanted to overshare. "That's one of the best things my parents both achieved. Somehow, they felt like my friends," he said. "You don't want to be so cool with your parents that you can do anything, but when big things happen, you wanted to share it with them."

The To All the Boys I've Loved Before heartthrob had a fast rise to fame since the Netflix film's release, but he was always so quick to turn the spotlight on the most important lady in his life — his mom, Kellee Janel.

During his first-ever visit to The Tonight Show, he barely said hello to Jimmy Fallon before pointing out his supportive mom in the crowd. When the camera cut to her, she pointed to her son and proudly said, "I did that."

The Saturday Night Live star — who once appeared beside his mom Amy Waters Davidson in a Mother's Day sketch for the show — is a certified mama's boy. Despite his comedy and acting success, for a long time Davidson lived in the basement of the home he shared with his mom, he told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. "I live with my mom," he joked. "Well, we bought a house together, but nobody believes that."

Bradley Cooper

The A Star Is Born director brought mom Gloria Campano as his date to the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards. "She's a cool chick," Cooper told Details about living with his mom two years after the death of his father. "We can hang. And she can roll with the punches. If that wasn't the case, there's no way … It's not like I live in a compound and she's in the guesthouse. No, she's in the next room."

Ryan Gosling

The way the actor beamed at his mom, Donna, at the 2011 premiere of Ides of March is proof enough of his mama's boy status. Gosling also made sure girlfriend Eva Mendes, mother to his two daughters, spent quality time with his mother early on in their relationship in 2012. That same year, Gosling proudly watched as Donna graduated from Brock University in Ontario. "I grew up with two incredible women, my mother and sister, and naturally my way of looking at the world was shaped by a female perspective," the star said at a 2015 screening of his film Lost River.

Justin Timberlake

Timberlake paid permanent homage to his mother Lynn Bomar Harless by including her initials in his back tattoo. "We have a very special relationship," the star told Rolling Stone of Harless in 2003. "She's been my best friend since I figured out who I wanted to be. She's great, and such a fun woman. She goes out with me and stays out later than I do. She's always been there beside me, and I think that's part of my problem with girls. You keep searching for somebody as good as your mother, and that's a losing battle."

Clearly, Timberlake eventually won that battle (he's been married to Jessica Biel for ages). But his mother love is still strong. "We have been through so much together and I love you more than words can begin to describe," he wrote on Instagram in honor of her 2015 birthday. "Everything I am and continue to strive to be is because of you. I love you, Momma."

There's no doubt that the one-time Sexiest Man Alive loves his mama, Ata Johnson. The actor brought her along to the premiere of Moana, and shared a tear-jerking Instagram post about her for Mother's Day 2015. "Early am flight and I'm sittin' across from my mom when out of the blue she looks around the plane, then looks at me and says 'Son, I can't believe the life I have.. grandma and grandpa would be so proud,'" Johnson recalled. "I asked her, 'Are you happy ma?' Just then the flight attendant placed my mom's breakfast down on the table and my mom said to me, 'Am I happy?.. I used to worry about how I was going to buy groceries for us and now I just had my breakfast placed down in front of me.' She bursts into tears and says 'Yes, son, I couldn't be happier.' "

"At this moment Im shaking my head and smiling quietly (as my mom blows her nose;) 'cause she just told me she's happy. And y'all know when our parents tell us they're happy, it's so satisfying for us, 'cause it means we've done a good job for them as their kids."

Colin Farrell

Farrell has enlisted mom Rita as his date for a number of awards shows, including the 2017 Golden Globes. And the actor considers 2011's Fright Night his greatest success because it was on that set that Rita met her future husband, producer Joel Michaels. "The two of them have companionship and love together for the rest of their days," Farrell told Entertainment Weekly of their romance. "My mother is in her 70s and so is her husband, and that's it, done. So excuse me for being an idealist for a second, but anyone can create their own definitions of success and failure in their life or career. If my being in Fright Night led to my mother's happiness, then, yes, absolutely, that film will always be the greatest success of my career."

Jared Leto

Leto had an unforgettable 2014 awards season thanks to his role in Dallas Buyers Club, but the now-Oscar winner said that the best part about being recognized for his work was getting the chance to thank his mom, Constance. "We were born very poor and into pretty humble surroundings," Leto shared with reporters at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon. "My mother always wanted to do something better with her life [and] for her children…She taught me to dream and then to do the work that it takes to make dreams become reality. It's been fun to bring her around." Adding, "The best part is to be able to thank the people that believed in you for so long. I could spend every single one of these moments talking about my mom. She's the best!"

When Oscar night came, the actor had the chance to once again pay tribute to his mother, this time with statuette in hand. "In 1971," Leto said during his Best Supporting Actor acceptance speech, "there was a teenage girl who was pregnant with her second child. She was a high-school dropout and a single mom, but somehow she managed to make a better life for herself and her children. That girl is my mother, and she's here tonight. And I just wanna say, I love you, Mom. Thank you for teaching me to dream."

Drake

The rapper's love for his mom, Sandi, is well documented in his music and on his Instagram. "Happy Mothers Day to my tiny hero. Love you so much," he captioned a sweet photo in 2015. His emotional track "You & The 6" serves as a tribute to his beloved mom: "They will not tear nothing down I built this home for you momma/ Know I don't call enough momma/ I just been working with so little time for personal momma/ Hard labor let me pay the price/ You and the six raised me right that s--- saved my life."

DiCaprio's mom, Irmelin, has remained an essential figure in his life, whether she's going along on vacations with his girlfriends, serving as his red carpet date or being thanked from awards show stages. "There's one person I have to thank," DiCaprio said while accepting his BAFTA award for The Revenant on what happened to be Irmelin's birthday. "I would not be standing up here if it weren't for this person. I didn't grow up in a life of privilege — I grew up in a very rough neighborhood in East Los Angeles, and this woman drove me for three hours a day to a different school to show me a different opportunity. It is her birthday today. So Mom, happy birthday. I love you very much."
