The View‘s first new episode since June saw three cohosts miss the broadcast due to various struggles.

Joy Behar revealed producer Brian Teta “begged” her to come in on her day off to fill in.

Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, and Ana Navarro were all absent due to natural disasters, from storms to an erupting volcano.

Mother Nature has intervened with the rollout of The View‘s first new broadcast since June.

In an astonishing series of developments, natural disasters led to three cohost absences ahead of Monday morning’s show, with Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, and Sara Haines all sitting out following the program’s Fourth of July hiatus.

Joy Behar, filling in as moderator in Goldberg’s place, announced that her colleagues missed the episode for a range of reasons, from storms to — yes — an active volcano eruption.

“You may be asking, ‘ Why am I here on a Monday?’ I asked myself the same question, but Brian begged me to come in,” Behar said, before the camera cut to a shot of producer Brian Teta. “Begged me on his knees where he belongs. Why? Because we are down three cohosts today.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who made it to the studio alongside Sunny Hostin, joked that her peers were “dropping like flies,” after Navarro released a social media video over the weekend confirming that she wouldn’t be at the Hot Topics table after “bad weather” grounded her planned return flight from Miami to New York City.

“Ana is stuck in Miami because of the weather. It’s always hot there, what’s the problem? Sara is dealing with storm damage. How many people are dealing with storm damage? Anybody in this group? No? Just Sara,” she quipped. “And Whoopi is using the old volcano excuse.”

The show then played a video of Goldberg dispatching an update on the scene in Italy, where Mount Etna’s eruption also grounded flights and left the EGOT winner stranded on the shores of Sicily.

“I am in Sicily right now, and Mount Etna, who is one of our active volcanoes here in Italy, decided to go off today,” Goldberg said in the clip.

Goldberg said she “spent most of the day trying to get back to the United States” to return, but that “all of the airports are closed here.”

Back in the studio, Behar extended her gratitude to Survival of the Thickest star Michelle Buteau, who was meant to be an interview guest on Monday’s show but extended her stay across the entire episode amid the trio of absences.

“This is the best booty call I’ve ever had,” the Netflix star joked after Behar thanked her for waking up at 6 a.m. to make it to set on time.
