- Peter Weber has issued a lengthy critique of *The Love Producer*, a new memoir by former *Bachelor *producer Julie LaPlaca.

- LaPlaca alleges in the book that she and Weber, who starred on season 24, hooked up shortly after his breakup with winner Hannah Ann Sluss.

- Weber called the book ‘unforgiveable,’ telling TMZ that LaPlaca and ‘Bachelor’ host Chris Harrison, who introduced the book, have ‘let him down.’

Peter Weber isn’t pulling punches.

The star of *The Bachelor* season 24 has issued a blistering response to *The Love Producer*, a new tell-all memoir by former series* *producer Julie LaPlaca, which contains shocking allegations about Weber.

Even as Weber’s season of the reality dating series aired in early 2020, rumors swirled that he and LaPlaca shared some kind of secret relationship. And a week before *The Love Producer*’s publication on Tuesday, Weber slammed the book as “exploiting that experience,” though he declined to describe it in more detail.

With the memoir now out in the world, LaPlaca’s recollection of the relationship is available for one and all to read — and Weber has a lot to say about it.

“I just find it ironic that Julie is coming out with a book all about finding your truth and searching for love, when the entire time I was trying to do just that on my season of *The Bachelor*, with her as my main confidant and guide throughout the process, her actions said otherwise,” Weber said in a statement shared with TMZ on Tuesday.

“I am by no means a victim in all of this. I’m a grown man who is responsible for all of my actions, and I know that,” he continued. “That being said, going through an experience like I did involved a certain level of trust being given to people I really didn’t know that much about at the time.”

He even had sharp words for Chris Harrison, the longtime host of *The Bachelor*, who penned the introduction to *The Love Producer*.

“I have a hard time understanding how [Harrison] and Julie can both endorse this type of book when they know how badly they let me down,” he told the outlet.

Weber first appeared on season season 15 of *The Bachelorette*, which starred Hannah Brown and aired in 2019. The commercial airline pilot ultimately placed third, and was selected to lead the following season of *The Bachelor*.

LaPlaca produced the series between 2014 and 2021, and according to *The Love Producer*, it was during the run of Weber’s season on ABC (and after his breakup with winner Hannah Ann Sluss) that the two hooked up. Not only that, but Brown revealed in her 2021 memoir, *God Bless This Mess*, that she had a one-night stand with Weber that same month.

“I walked into his room, not realizing what was about to happen. He shut the door behind me. We sat on the edge of his bed. ‘We don’t have to — this is bad,’ he said. ‘It’s up to you,’” LaPlaca writes in *The Love Producer*, recalling the evening they shared watching the show at his house 2020. Shortly thereafter, LaPlaca says that Weber spotted out with fifth-place contestant Kelley Flanagan, leaving her feeling, “Humiliated, embarrassed, and heartbroken.”

Weber told TMZ that he had a 90-minute conversation with LaPlaca before the publication of the memoir, during which he asked her to tamp down details of their alleged tryst.

“To have her laugh in my face while I was very vulnerably expressing my reasons for wanting to be left out of this book was unforgivable. (And yes, she knows I have the conversation recorded),” he said.

Still, Weber shared that he is currently “in a really good place,” and even shared his hope that LaPlaca find “the love that we all deserve.”
