Rosanna Arquette is calling "bulls---" on *Love Story*'s portrayal of Daryl Hannah.

Last week, Hannah spoke out against how the FX series has inaccurately characterized her as a villainous "adversary" to the romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. And now Arquette is supporting her fellow actress against "the streaming thing."

"I love Daryl Hannah," Arquette wrote on Instagram. "She’s a great woman, a great actor, writer, director and activist for the environment for years! She is also an animal whisperer. Her work in the world has been epic. The portrayal of her on the streaming thing is bulls---. Her love with John F Kennedy Jr was real and some of the happiest times John F Kennedy Jr. had - Just ask his family. But no one did."

In the comments of the post, Arquette's *After Hours *costar Griffin Dunne echoed those sentiments. "Daryl was treated HORRIBLY but man, can she stick up for herself," he wrote. "Her op/ed in the Times was brilliant and should have shamed everyone responsible for her gross depiction."

The Kennedy family has also spoken out against *Love Story*, and Kennedy's cousin Douglas Kennedy has called it "unfortunate" that *Love Story* depicted Hannah in a negative light. "Daryl Hannah was great," Kennedy told Page Six. "Whenever I saw her, she was very sweet and had [John's] best interests at heart. I think that's a misrepresentation."

What Love Story gets wrong about Daryl Hannah and her romance with JFK Jr.

Hailing from producer Ryan Murphy, *Love Story *chronicles the relationship between JFK Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon), with Dree Hemingway playing Hannah, who dated JFK Jr. for years before their separation in 1994 and his subsequent marriage to Bessette in 1996. The early *Love Story* episodes find JFK Jr. and Hannah drifting apart, while also featuring Hannah doing cocaine and crashing his mother's funeral.

"In the weeks since the series aired, I have received many hostile and even threatening messages from viewers who seem to believe the portrayal is factual," Hannah wrote in the *New York Times*. "Many people believe what they see on TV and do not distinguish between dramatization and documented fact — and the impact is not abstract. In a digital era, entertainment often becomes collective memory. Real names are not fictional tools. They belong to real lives."

The *Splash* and *Wall Street* star went on to insist that the onscreen portrayal of her is "not even a remotely accurate representation of my life, my conduct or my relationship with John."

Hannah continued, "The actions and behaviors attributed to me are untrue. I have never used cocaine in my life or hosted cocaine-fueled parties. I have never pressured anyone into marriage. I have never desecrated any family heirloom or intruded upon anyone's private memorial. I have never planted any story in the press. I never compared Jacqueline Onassis' death to a dog's... These are not creative embellishments of personality. They are assertions about conduct — and they are false."

*Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette* has been a smash hit for FX, and new episodes are currently premiering on Thursdays.
