Ryan Seacrest Reveals What Taylor Swift Told Him After He RSVP’d to Her and Travis Kelce’s Wedding

Ryan Seacrest revealed what Taylor Swift told him after he RSVP’d to her and Travis Kelce’s wedding

The radio and TV host ultimately had to cancel his plans to attend the New York City nuptials due to a work commitment

Swift and Kelce got married at Madison Square Garden on July 3, with an estimated 1,000 guests in attendance

Ryan Seacrest says he ran into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce shortly after RSVPing to their wedding — and the pop star teased an unforgettable night at her nuptials.

On Monday, July 6, the radio and TV host, 51, revealed on his On Air with Ryan Seacrest show that he was among the estimated 1,000 guests invited to the couple’s July 3 wedding in New York City.

“Travis and Taylor got married, and I had to keep a secret from you,” he told his co-hosts, Tanya Rad and Sisanie Villaclara. “I had to keep a secret. It was a confidential invitation to everybody who was invited. And so when you were doing your reports about the wedding, I was just on the inside screaming, on the outside very composed.”

Seacrest said he initially RSVP’d yes and then, shortly after, he saw Swift and Kelce, both 36, out at a restaurant.

“I saw them at dinner at a restaurant, and we talked about the event,” he recalled. “And she [Swift] was like, ‘It’s going to be so much fun. We’re gonna have the best time. It’s gonna go late.’ “

“I’m like, ‘I cannot wait. I’m so excited,’ “ Seacrest continued, adding, “I met Travis for the first time actually [that night].”

Ultimately, however, the Wheel of Fortune host “had to cancel” his plans to attend the wedding.

“Disney hired me to do the Fourth of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th,” he explained.

Rad and Villaclara were incredulous that Seacrest would let anything stop him from attending the wedding of the year. “You were one of the invited and not attended?” Rad asked. “Waste of an invite!” Villaclara chimed in.

Seacrest then replied, “It wasn’t a waste. I was actually really excited,” explaining that he just couldn’t make both events work in his packed schedule.

“I was kind of torn,” he said. “Trust me, I went through the minutes, I couldn’t have done both. And the actual wedding was in the afternoon. I went through the minutes! But I was so honored and thrilled to be invited.”

Seacrest said “we gave them a shout-out” on the Disney special to celebrate their nuptials.

Last year, the TV personality offered to officiate Swift and Kelce’s wedding (that role was ultimately bestowed on Adam Sandler) when the “Opalite” singer called into his radio show.

“The fate and irony of this, I happen to have just been ordained and married [Rad] here on the show at her wedding, so I don’t know who you’re looking for…,” Seacrest said to Swift at the time while discussing her engagement to Kelce.

“That’s amazing,” Swift replied, as Seacrest remarked, “What are the chances, right?”

Seacrest explained to the “Karma” singer that he “did the online course” to become ordained, adding, “I’m allowed to do other weddings so... I’m just throwing my name out there as the officiator.”

Reacting to the suggestion, Swift said, “I am honored that you would be up for that. That is fantastic.”
