- The wife of music producer Jacknife Lee says her husband deleted an invitation to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding.

- He received a text message invitation to the ceremony from Swift’s manager, but didn’t respond because it sounded off.

- He explained to his wife that he didn’t click an attached link because “I guess I thought someone was trying to hack my address book or something.”

Well, that’s one way to get the wedding blues.

Melissa Garner Lee, the wife of famed music producer Garret “Jacknife” Lee, revealed in a piece written for the Huffington Post that her husband accidentally deleted their invitation to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding because he thought it was spam.

Garret, who co-wrote and produced Swift and Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody’s collaboration “The Last Time” on her 2012 album *Red*, explained to his wife that he’d gotten “a text” from Swift’s manager but didn’t reply to it because something about it felt off.

“Yeah — remember I told you I got a text from her manager? But I didn’t respond to it,” he told her. “It didn’t sound like him.”

When Melissa pointed out that it may have been an assistant who sent the invite, she wrote that her husband appeared apologetic as he simply replied, “Oh.”

It’s safe to say that Melissa, who is a psychotherapist, was stunned by her husband’s decision. “We’ve been married for 32 years and have lived in the same house all of that time, but apparently we occupy two different worlds,” she added.

Garret later confirmed that they’d been invited, but that he hadn’t clicked on the actual invite because “I guess I thought someone was trying to hack my address book or something.”

As a result, Melissa wrote that she temporarily left the room “reeling in frustration” over her husband’s handling of the situation. When she returned, Garret asked why she’d “even want to go” to Taylor and Travis’ wedding in the first place.

“I wanted to go because it would give me a bit of hope,” she informed him, noting that their nuptials might have given her “hope for love,” “hope for some good in the world,” and “maybe hope in America at a dark time.” She continued, “And I obviously would have loved to hear the musical guests. I mean
Stevie Nicks was supposed to play!”

It was then, Melissa wrote, that Garret really understood how he’d disappointed her by not replying to the initial text. She explained that he apologized for the gaffe before trying to ease the sting by informing her, “It’s really hot out there — it would’ve been hot.”

Spoiler alert: it was not the right thing to say at the moment. “I felt myself starting to lose my mind again,” Melissa wrote. “We were invited to the wedding of the decade and we didn’t go because it might be too hot? We didn’t even RSVP ‘no.’ How rude is that? (Sorry Taylor and Travis!).”

In the end, Garret made it up to Melissa by bringing home her favorite meal and giving her a hug and a kiss. And, after taking a moment to cool down, she also acknowledged that their family was dealing with “much bigger things to worry about” in their lives than attending Taylor and Travis’ wedding.

“A missed wedding will not be what breaks us. We’re stronger than that,” she wrote. “Still, it would’ve been fun to see her dress.”

If it makes Garret feel any better, he wasn’t the only celebrity who got bamboozled by the invitation. Maren Morris previously revealed that she similarly thought she’d received a fake text about Travis and Taylor’s big day.

“I got this spam text a couple weeks ago, and it was like, ‘You’re invited to Taylor and Travis’ wedding,’” the country singer recalled during an interview with SiriusXM Hits 1 Miami With Mack & Jen. “And I was like, ‘I’m blocking this,’ because, like, there’s no way they would send an invitation through a text like this.”

When one of the hosts wondered if it could be a real invitation, Maren jokingly replied, “What if I, like, trashed it?”

Thankfully, the “Carry Me Through” singer caught on and made it to the wedding in the end, posing for photos and driving to the venue with fellow country superstars Kelsea Ballerini and Miranda Lambert. Taylor and Travis tied the knot in a ceremony held at Madison Square Garden on July 3, with a collection of celebrities in attendance including Maren, Tom Cruise, Machine Gun Kelly, Jennifer Lopez, Nelly, Selena Gomez, and more.
