Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen hosted the season 8 reunion of Love Island USA that aired on Peacock Monday, Aug. 31

Two couples revealed they are no longer together, among other surprises

There was also an unexpected coupling that came to light during the catch-up episode

The tea was spilled at the Love Island USA season 8 reunion.

On Monday, Aug. 31, the cast of season 8 came together to look back at the whirlwind season and reflect on their ups and downs with the help of co-hosts Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen.

The conversation largely centered around the final four couples — Trinity Tatum and Bryce Alakai, Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt, Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea and Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou — but islanders Corbin Mims, Caleb McDaniel, Jen Terry, Jaiden Bacciocco, Parmida Keshani, Sol Dean and more also had big moments.

Read on for some of the reunion’s biggest moments.

Melanie and Sincere reveal where their relationship stands

The season’s most controversial couple was put on the spot during the reunion. Melanie was somewhat cagey about where she stands with Sincere more than a month after leaving the Fiji villa, but she confirmed that he is “building” back trust.

“We are not boyfriend and girlfriend,” she said of their relationship status. “We’re kind of just seeing what happens in the outside world.”

Sincere said they’re on the “same exact page” about where they stand — and that he wanted to “apologize to everyone” he’d hurt during his time in the villa. “I do understand that I have hurt a lot of people’s emotions.”

Things got heated when Sol was brought onstage. She did not hold back about how hurt she was when she watched the show back, as she claimed her fellow islanders were “objectifying my body” and making “antagonizing” comments about her.

“I feel like you guys were welcoming the first day, and then I started talking to Sincere, and then the energy just got f---ing weird in the house,” Sol said.

Melanie was “shocked” by what Sol said, and stood by her actions, insisting she was “so genuine” towards Sol, despite the ongoing connection between her and Sincere. “I never came at you, ever, aggressively.”

Previously unaired footage was also shown of a heartfelt conversation between Sol and Melanie. “When we had that talk in Say Less, Mel, I thought we were chilling,” Sol said afterward. “But when I watched the show back and I see you jumping in a circle, talking about me — it’s just a lot of random hate when I just walked in, this is my first day and I’m just feeling some tension.”

Melanie insisted that, after their one-on-one conversation, her behavior toward Sol changed. “After that, it was a whole different situation. Let’s say [there] were ‘mean’ comments — everybody tried with you. So I don’t even wanna hear that BS because from that moment forward I saw how hurt you were from the situation with him. I moved on and I was so kind to you, so f--- off.”

Two islanders ended up finding a connection outside the villa this season. Sydney Eugene and Ronnie Gunter revealed that they linked up.

“It’s been fun, it’s exciting, it’s different,” Sydney said when Cohen asked her about life after the villa.

When she was asked if she’d spent time with any other islanders since leaving, she and Ronnie started to giggle, and the co-hosts picked up on the vibes.

“I mean, you guys are staring at each other. It’s not a secret, I’d say,” Madix said.

They didn’t say much about their new romance, but Sydney said things are “very, very good” and that she was “very flattered” by Ronnie’s attention.

Caleb and Jaiden hooked up after leaving the villa but things fizzled out

Directly after leaving the villa when they were eliminated, Caleb and Jaiden had sex at the hotel, they revealed during the reunion. (They both agreed the hook up was “good,” when asked by the co-hosts.) After that, they tried to make long distance work, but she claimed he didn’t put in any effort to explore their potential relationship. They eventually reunited in person in the Hamptons—where they hooked up again.

After more back and forth during the reunion about why things didn’t work out, Caleb ultimately apologized to Jaiden for not being clearer about their future, or lack thereof. “I could’ve handled it more maturely. I apologize that I didn’t. And I apologize that I hurt you in the middle of it. I wish I didn’t,” he said.

Elsewhere, Caleb argued that he simply told her “I wanted to continue to have these conversations” and see where things go. Still, he admitted, “Yeah, we shouldn’t have hooked up. If I knew that it would turn out like this, I wouldn’t have done it.”

KC reveals he has received death threats

Both KC Chandler and girlfriend Tierra “Titi” Davis addressed feeling “misunderstood” by how they were portrayed on the show. KC also spoke about being met with a harsh social media reception upon leaving the villa. “We got a lot of feedback, and it’s tough. I’m getting sent death threats, my family’s getting sent death threats, racial slurs. And, you know, one thing I don’t stand for is racism. Towards me, towards Titi and any of the cast members. Which is a big reason why I haven’t really been on social media. I wanted to get my mind right and really focus on what matters to me, which is family and my mental health.”

When they discussed the infamous fire pit argument later in the reunion, Trinity reiterated her apology and condemned online negativity directed at KC and Titi. “That’s not okay,” she said. “I don’t think that anybody should be getting death threats. … You guys are two both amazing people.”

Corbin and Parmida confirm they friend-zoned each other

The other islanders appeared surprised when Corbin Mims revealed that, no, he and Parmida Keshani are not still together romantically. “Not in relationship terms. But as friendships? Yes,” he specified. Corbin added that they had “some ups and downs” in the “real world” after leaving the villa despite their chemistry.

Explained Parmida, “After we hung out and had, like, a lot of conversations we just realized, like, we want different things. And there was really no point of being exclusive. Like, it didn’t make sense for us. So I am happy with the memories that we made together, but I am excited to grow a friendship. And we’ve been hanging out as friends and it’s been great.”

The Love Island USA season 8 reunion is now streaming on Peacock.
