Lucky for us, August was filled with tons of celebrity appearances, thus providing plenty of beauty inspiration. From music festivals like Lollapalooza and Daisy Chain Fields, where campy looks reigned supreme, to star-studded weddings that let glowing skin do the talking, Hollywood’s best makeup artists and hairstylists were booked and busy this month.
Keep scrolling for the breakdowns from the best beauty looks of August that we can’t stop thinking about, whether you want to recreate them yourself or just appreciate them for the works of art they are.
Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving Tour
As The Art of Loving Tour officially comes to a close, it only felt right to pay homage to the glamorous looks Olivia Dean pulled out night after night. Her vintage curls by Rachel Polycarpe brought all the retro vibes, and her gorgeous glam, courtesy of Aimee Twist, was just as dazzling as the singer herself (I saw her perform at MSG, and her cheek glow was blinding).
Chappell Roan at Daisy Chain Fields
Chappell Roan left us in awe with her Fifth Element-inspired glam this weekend at Olivia Rodrigo’s first annual Daisy Chain Fields music festival. Her makeup artist Dee Carrion created this stunning geometric purple shadow look, and her sleek bob by Virginie Pineda was blunt and an unexpected deviation from her classic curls.
Jordyn Woods’ Bridal Glam
Jordyn Woods and Karl Anthony Towns officially tied the knot, and with the lavish star-studded nuptials came some of the best wedding glam we could ask for. Jordyn walked down the aisle with a gorgeous slicked-back updo courtesy of Devontae’ Washington, and the sleek style let her makeup by Kevin Luong do the talking. Complete with glossy skin, a smokey eye (an elevated ode to 2016) and a neutral yet defined lip.
Olivia Rodrigo at Lollapalooza
When Olivia Rodrigo joined Smashing Pumpkins on stage at Lollapalooza, we couldn’t stop staring at her halo braids. The Princess Leia-esque updo was done by hair stylist Owen Gould, and her classic cat eye was perfected by her MUA Melissa Hernandez.

Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun Glam
Sophia Sinot has been absolutely slaying Zara Larsson’s glam for the entirety of her Midnight Sun era, so much so that it was hard to choose just one look from the month. But this Y2K bedazzled butterfly glam paired with a glossy lip is equal parts camp and iconic.
Doechii at Daisy Chain Fields
If you’re noticing a theme here, the glam at Daisy Chain Fields was continually feeding us all weekend long, and Doechii’s hot pink ensemble will go down in beauty history. Her entire body was painted by Malina Stearns, her outerwordly makeup was crafted by Chelsea Uchenna, and her pigtail bob was @SlayedByMatthew (and slay he did).
Tate McRae at Lollapalooza
Tate McRae started out her lollapalooza headline set with a voluminous blowout by Evanie Frausto and bedazzled cat eye by Kali Kennedy, which we didn’t know could get any better—until the singer quite literally dipped herself in a pool of gold mid-song, creating the best body glow we’ve seen in a long while.
Joey King’s Copper Hair
Dimitris Giannetos, aka the hair legend behind some of the best ‘dos from celebs like Gigi Hadid and Demi Moore, created these stunning mermaid waves on Joey King. Her waist-skimming copper strands are the perfect transitional fall hair look.
Trinity’s Sparkly Shadow
America’s favorite Love Island star has been pulling out look after look following her run in the villa. This hot pink shadow and sparkly body glitter moment by Kenya Alexis might just be my favorite of the month from Trinity.
