Following the Tennessee Titans' first regular-season practice, head coach Robert Saleh met with the media and discussed what had transpired and the plan moving into their Week 1 matchup with the New York Jets,
While he touched on many topics, including his personal feelings going against his former team, one of the big things that came up was the injury situation, which included rookie Carnell Tate and tight end David Martin-Robinson sitting out today’s padless practice. Saleh said that Tate is working through some stiffness, and Martin-Robinson has some soreness post-preseason finale, so they gave them both a rest day.
After stating the obvious that Fernando Carmona won the starting right guard position, Saleh also talked about the guys on the practice squad and the development plan to keep them ready for the regular season if needed.

One of the interesting points was on the post-practice session specifically for the practice squad, or next-16, as Saleh calls them, and players working at different positions. This is an interesting approach that should keep those players involved and help their development heading into the regular season.
The Titans will use the week as a walkthrough for a normal game week and will begin preparing for their season opener against the Jets. They will be back on the field tomorrow to continue their work.
