Travis Kelce is speaking out about his wedding to Taylor Swift, after the pair tied the knot at Madison Square Garden on July 3 in a ceremony officiated by Adam Sandler

“It’s a night out we’ll never forget,” Travis recalled on the Wednesday, Sept. 2 season premiere of his and Jason’s New Heights podcast

“I wish it could have lasted even longer than it did. It felt like it just happened in the blink of an eye,” the NFL star added

It’s been nearly two months since Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift got married at Madison Square Garden in front of their celebrity guests, but little has been released about their private nuptials.

On the Wednesday, Sept. 2 season premiere of Travis’New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, flashed his new gold wedding ring and gave listeners more insight into the big day.

“It’s a night out we’ll never forget,” Travis recalled of the ceremony.

He added, “Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, from the vows to just seeing everyone, to how much fun we had, throughout the entire evening and hearing that, kind of be relayed through everybody’s stories of the night. And it was just so magical, man.”

The athlete said of his one regret, “I wish it could have lasted even longer than it did. It felt like it just happened in the blink of an eye,” as Jason quipped, “They kicked us out.”

“Well, once the drinks stopped being served, everyone kinda just starts to, you know, mosey out,” Travis explained.

The couple tied the knot on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, after days of preparations that saw workers bringing in various items to the sporting arena to transform the space.

Travis shared some insight into why the couple chose that particular venue for their special day.

“We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions. And we needed it to be a private feel,” he said on the podcast. “And MSG went above and beyond to give us that.”

Calling it a “very magical night,” Travis went on to give one special shout out to his officiant — Adam Sandler.

“I can’t say thank you to everyone without [giving] a special thank you to the Adam Sandler,” Travis, who had a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2, said.

“He has been just the f---ing best person on this planet. And for him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor in the way he did, in the very, you know, Sandman style and giving us more than we could have ever imagined in that moment, knowing that, it was the biggest night of both of our lives. It was, it was absolutely insane, man,” he continued.

Jason agreed with Travis’ sentiment, adding that the comedian exceeded his expectations when it came time to preside over the ceremony.

“When you said Adam was gonna be officiating the wedding, I initially, I was like, ‘Man, he’s gonna be hilarious,’ ” Jason recalled. “But it wasn’t until, like, right before the wedding that I realized, ‘Oh my god, he’s gonna crush this because there’s — well, I mean, obviously, he’s an entertainer and he’s hilarious, but there’s a sweetness in everything Adam does, like all of his movies. And, like, there’s a degree of it that I think really resonates with officiating a wedding.”

Jason also complimented Travis and Taylor on the structure of their wedding, noting, “The thing I really liked about this wedding, in particular, and the way you guys structured it was like, after all that was done, like, there wasn’t like the sit down formal stuff. There wasn’t like a bunch of the speeches. It was just time to party and have fun. And that’s what made it so fun to for me to be there.”

The mingling between A-list celebrities and important people in Travis and Taylor’s life was also a highlight for Jason, who was particularly excited to see someone from his past, named Mrs. Clarke.

“I saw Brad Pitt hugging Conan O’Brien. I see Paul McCartney, and then all of a sudden I see f---ing Mrs. Clarke. And I’m like, ‘What in the world?!’ ” Jason quipped.

One element that was important for the pair was requiring guests to ditch their phones inside the venue.

“It was so cool to see how everybody interacted and with no phones comes people not having to be on guard and feel that whatever that feeling is for everyone,” Travis recalled.

He continued, “It makes everyone be in the moment and be present. And it was it was so cool seeing everyone from my childhood, not only mesh with Taylor and her childhood and her family and friends and people that she works with, to who we’ve come in counter with over our career and who we just admire as people and have become good friends with now.”

It was previously shared that Jason and his wife Kylie Kelce’s daughters had served as the couple’s flower girls for the special occasion, while comedian Adam Sandler was their officiant.

Meanwhile, the “Love Story” singer’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her “man of honor,” Swift’s rep previously confirmed to PEOPLE, while Jason was Travis’ best man. The couple opted not to have bridesmaids or groomsmen.

When it came time to exchange their vows, the couple spent 40 minutes (“20 minutes each,” per a source) sharing their personalized messages to one another. And each guest received a monogrammed ivory handkerchief, in case the ceremony brought them to tears.

Since tying the knot, the couple have been spotted out and about this summer. Days after their own wedding, they attended the wedding of Travis’ teammate, JuJu Smith-Schuster, in California.

The NFL star has also been spotted on the field practicing for a new season with the Chiefs. While Travis was busy getting ready to play, Swift traveled to London for the wedding of her recording engineers, Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk.
