President Donald Trump slapped his signature on the $100 bill just in time for July 4th.

Trump shared an image of a $100 bill bearing his signature on Truth Social on Friday. Also featured on the bill is the signature of Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.

"Yeah, this rocks," wrote a Trump supporter on X. Another person wrote, "Any liberals that don't want those $100 bills can send them to me." It comes after Donald Trump trolls Taylor Swift's wedding with a four-word message amid a long-running feud.

Others called for Trump's face to be featured on the bill instead of Benjamin Franklin, a founding father of the United States. Earlier this year, it was reported that Trump was set to become the first sitting president to have his signature on banknotes.

"There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J Trump than U.S. dollar bills bearing his name," Bessent said back in March.

Banknotes have traditionally carried the signatures of treasury officials. Throughout Trump's second term in the White House, the administration has moved to associate the president's name with a range of government programs and public buildings.

The first $100 bills with Trump's signature were reportedly printed in June. Previous banknotes featured the signatures of President Joe Biden's Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, and Treasurer Lynn Malerba.

Since 1861, it has been tradition for the treasurer's signature to appear on banknotes. However, the Trump administration has ended this practice. Treasurer Brandon Beach promised that the country's currency will "continue to stand as a symbol of prosperity, strength, and the unshakable spirit of the American people."

At the time, California Governor and vocal Trump critic Gavin Newsom responded to the announcement by attacking the president's economic record.

"Now, Americans will know exactly who to blame as they're paying more for groceries, gas, rent, and health care," he posted on social media.

Also in March, a 24-karat gold coin bearing Trump's face was approved by the Commission of Fine Arts, all of whom were appointed by Trump following his return to the White House. "I motion to approve this [coin] as presented, and with the strong encouragement that you make it as large as possible, all the way to three inches in diameter," said James McCrery, the commission's vice chairman.

Federal law doesn't allow a living president to appear on U.S. currency, but the coin is being issued in accordance with Bessent's authority and discretion to mint and issue proof gold coins. Until now, Calvin Coolidge is the only other president to have been featured on a coin in his lifetime.

It comes after it's been revealed Princess Diana thought Donald Trump was a 'creep' after he 'pursued her as a trophy wife'.
