Even though school is out for the summer, Advanced Placement students are finally getting their exam scores back ahead of the 2026 fall semester.

AP Programs are offered at schools across the country, providing high school students with the opportunity to earn college credit if they achieve a certain score on the AP exam at the end of the course.

For those wondering when they'll see their AP scores, here's what to know:

When do College Board AP scores come out?

The College Board began releasing AP scores at 8 a.m. on July 6.

Scores will be released on a rolling basis, with most results available within two weeks, according to the College Board.

How to access AP scores

Students will receive email notifications when their scores are ready. Results may be accessed online through the My AP account.

What is considered a good score on the AP exam?

AP exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest score. Most schools will allow students to receive credit and skip a course equivalent to the one they took in high school if they score a 3 or higher.

Missouri has a high percentage of students scoring a 3 or higher on AP exams, with nearly 75% of Missouri students achieving this mark in 2025 compared to the national average of 71%.

How many Missouri students take AP exams?

Although Missouri's participation numbers have increased over the years, it's still below the national average.

Approximately 36% of high schoolers in Missouri took an AP exam in 2025, ranking it 27th among the 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Which Missouri schools accept AP courses?

Although most Missouri schools have historically accepted AP courses for college credit, minimum score requirements varied, with some requiring a score of 4 or 5 to earn credit for a course.

That changed in 2022 when then-Missouri Gov. Mike Parson signed a bill into law requiring in-state colleges to award course credit to high school students who earn at least a 3 — effectively standardizing the requirement across Missouri's public community colleges, colleges and universities.
