A few details are starting to emerge from the massive wedding event between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on Friday night. Swift and Kelce have been together since summer of 2023, finally getting married after he proposed in August of 2025. The duo took over Madison Square Garden for the affair, inviting over 1,000 friends and family to celebrate.

Shortly after the billboards outside the arena read "JUST&T Married," a press release from Swift's publicist, Tree Paine, circulated with some key information. The most noticeable? The couple was married by none other than comedian Adam Sandler.

So why was the longtime funny man tabbed to do the honors for the couple?

Sandler has long been effusive with his praise of Swift, often telling stories about how his kids are huge fans and how the singer has always been kind to him and his family. There's also a connection with Kelce as the NFL star had a small role in Sandler's 2025 movie, Happy Gilmore 2. Sandler also joined Kelce and his big brother, Jason, for an episode of their New Heights podcast.
